REVELATIONS FROM THE CRYPT

METEOR NITE #1

2003-08-12, 12:57 a.m.

Here are the results of a little sky watching in the middle of a walk tonight.

Location: Colorado Springs, CO USA
Date: Aug 11/12
Time: 11:45pm - 12:15am Mountain Time
Sky: Cloudy
Meteors: 3
Fireballs: 1

A fireball is an extraordinarily bright meteor that leaves a trail of smoke behind it and glows very bright. The fireball I saw was slow moving and was in the sky for about 4 seconds before breaking into little chunks that all evaporated.

I'd love to hear your observations.
